Morocco

In July 2005 I went to Morocco in North Africa.  I visited the cities of Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Fez, Essaouria and Marrakesh.  I went to the Sahara desert and met Ali a Berber who is one of the Blue Men of the Sahara.  I went to the ruined Roman City of Volubilis and saw beautiful mosaics.  At the holy city of Moulay Idriss in the Atlas mountains I met the children in the Koranic Pre-school.  The children had never seen a bear before and the teachers wanted to keep me!  I had a rather narrow escape!

 In Ait Benhaddou I saw the mud kasbah where lots of movies have been made such as Alexander, Jewel on the Nile, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, The Living Daylights and Sheltering Sky.
